It's usually the first thing people ask me. Sometimes it's asked outright — "So what exactly do you do?" Other times it's a bit more roundabout: "Could you help me with...?" followed by whatever's currently piling up on their desk.
Short answer: if it's admin, and it's eating your week, I can probably take it off your plate.
Longer answer — here's what that actually covers.
Email management
Your inbox doesn't stop just because you're in back-to-back appointments or on the tools all day. I manage inboxes so nothing important gets missed and nothing urgent sits there for three days — sorting, flagging, drafting responses, and keeping things moving the way you'd want them handled.
Diary management
Bookings, reschedules, reminders, juggling multiple calendars — diary management is one of those jobs that sounds small until you're the one doing it at 9pm. I keep your schedule organised so you're not the one chasing it.
Document creation
Proposals, letters, policies, client-facing documents — written, formatted, and looking professional without you having to find the time to sit down and do it yourself.
Spreadsheet and systems work
This is the one people are most surprised I do well. Client trackers, pricing calculators, reporting templates, formulas that actually work — spreadsheets built so you (or your team) can actually use them, not just admire them.
PDF fillable forms
Intake forms, engagement letters, client questionnaires — built as proper fillable PDFs so clients can complete and return them without the back-and-forth.
Data entry
The unglamorous but essential stuff. Client records, CRM updates, spreadsheet population — accurate, and done without it eating into your billable hours.
Transcription
Meeting notes, client calls, dictated correspondence — turned into clean, usable text.
Google Business Profile management
Keeping your listing accurate, active, and working for you in local search — so when someone nearby searches for what you do, you show up looking switched on.
So, what do you actually need?
Most of my clients don't come to me needing all of this. They come to me because one thing has become unmanageable — usually the inbox, or the diary, or a spreadsheet that's turned into a monster. We start there. If more comes up, we deal with it then.
That's really the point of a virtual assistant: not a fixed package, but support that flexes around what's actually on your plate.
If you're a sole trader or run a small law, accounting, consulting, or mortgage broking firm and something admin-related is eating more of your week than it should, send me a message. Tell me what it is — I'll tell you honestly whether I can help.
